Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce a new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 on October 13. The same launch is expected to include Apple’s long-awaited smart home display, but Apple has not confirmed the event.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple plans the smart-home push for October 13. The report says the company also intends to announce its first HomePod mini update since 2020 and first new TV box since 2022.
The timing would place the reported announcement three days before iPhone Duo pre-orders open. It also comes as Apple tests new Apple TV and HomePod features in tvOS 27.2 and HomePod Software 27.2.

Software clues are not confirmation
Recent betas contain references to Apple Intelligence on Apple TV and a four-speaker HomePod theater system. MacObserver has also covered the latest surround-sound clues.
The Bloomberg report is the evidence for the product timing. Beta references and store inventory can provide context, but neither independently confirms that Apple will ship the two new devices on October 13.
Apple has not announced pricing, specifications or availability for either rumored model. Anyone considering current hardware should wait for an official announcement if a near-term update would change the purchase decision.
Apple has not posted an event invitation or product announcement confirming the date, so buyers should treat October 13 as reported timing. The products could be announced through press releases instead of a streamed event, and availability may begin later than the introduction. Pricing, release timing and specifications remain unannounced.
