Apple Vision Pro sales reportedly fall to one unit a month at some stores

Apple Vision Pro sales have reportedly slowed to the point that some stores around the world are fortunate to sell one headset in a month. The claim is anecdotal rather than a companywide sales figure, but it adds to evidence that Apple’s premium headset remains a niche product.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman cited Apple retail employees in his latest Power On newsletter while examining the uncertain future of the Vision line. Apple does not publish unit sales for Vision Pro, so the report cannot establish an average across every store or market.

A premium headset still searching for scale

Apple launched Vision Pro in the United States in February 2024 and later expanded it internationally. The company refreshed the headset with an M5 chip and Dual Knit Band in October 2025, promising faster performance, sharper rendering and better comfort. The current model still uses a separate battery and remains positioned as a high-end spatial computer.

Gurman says Apple is increasingly highlighting specialized uses, including medical and enterprise work, rather than treating the product as a mass-market companion to the iPhone. That shift would be consistent with low retail volume, but Apple has not announced a change in its Vision Pro strategy or confirmed the sales estimate.

The reported slowdown matters because headset development requires expensive displays, cameras, chips and software. Weak consumer demand makes it harder to justify rapid hardware refreshes, even while Apple continues improving visionOS and promoting professional uses.

MacObserver previously examined whether Vision Pro is being discontinued and reported that the M5 refresh failed to lift demand. For now, Vision Pro remains available, and Apple continues to support it. The one-unit claim should be read as a warning from some retail locations, not a verified global total. Retail activity also affects how often shoppers encounter demonstrations and word-of-mouth recommendations.
