According to leaker Fixed Focus Digital, the iPhone Ultra will feature vapor chamber cooling, a technology designed to improve heat management during demanding tasks. The report says Apple’s thermal engineering efforts are delivering impressive results, which is notable given the device’s extremely thin design.

The cooling system reportedly builds on the thermal improvements Apple introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro, helping the foldable model maintain performance while handling the heat generated by its advanced hardware.

Fixed Focus Digital says the main production difficulties involve pre-assembly manufacturing processes rather than the hinge itself. Previous reports pointed to issues with surface-mount technology and delays in the production schedule, while other rumors suggested Apple was working through hinge durability concerns.

Even with these challenges, reports continue to indicate that Apple plans to begin mass production in July ahead of a fall 2026 release.

Current rumors suggest the iPhone Ultra will feature a 7.8-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch cover screen, Apple’s A20 chip, a C2 modem, Touch ID, and dual rear cameras. Pricing is expected to start around $2,000, positioning it as Apple’s most expensive iPhone yet.
