Govee just announced a new batch of smart lighting products, and the main focus is its new Sky Ceiling Light. The company priced this large indoor fixture at $400 and packed it with smart home support through Matter. It is designed to mimic a real skylight in your home, bringing extremely bright light and custom colors to rooms that lack good natural sunlight.
The light mimics a real skylight using bright blue hues
The Sky Ceiling Light spans 20.5 inches across and puts out a massive 7,000 lumens. This makes it bright enough to light up large rooms that do not have windows. It uses a specific 478-nanometer blue light spectrum to replicate the feeling of looking up at a clear daytime sky.
Govee says this blue tone helps support a healthy daily rhythm for people stuck indoors all day. It can also produce a wide range of standard white light. You can adjust it from a very warm 1,000K all the way up to a crisp 10,000K. The fixture uses an AI tool called Lighting Bot 2.0 in the Govee app, letting you ask for different moods or colors just by typing what you want.

Because it supports the new Matter standard, it will connect to almost any major smart home system. You can change basic colors and turn it on or off using platforms like Apple Home or Google Home. If you want the moving color effects and full AI tools, you will need to stick to its main companion app.
The company also released two other updated smart light models
Along with the ceiling fixture, it introduced the COB Strip Light 2 Pro. This new light strip packs 1,344 LEDs into every meter. This creates a very smooth glow without obvious bright dots. A five-meter strip will cost $170 when it goes on sale alongside the ceiling light on September 4. It also handles warm white tones much better than older versions due to an updated color chip design.
For outside the house, the $500 Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro will launch on September 7. These lights attach to the edge of a roof using a new, easier mounting bracket system. The updated model now drops colors vertically down the side of a building instead of washing them sideways.
Overall, this launch gives buyers stronger brightness and better smart home connections for their lighting setups. The steep price tag on the ceiling unit is a heavy investment, but it offers a practical alternative to cutting a real hole in the roof.
