Apple releases iOS 27 on Monday, September 14, and it has not published a security content page for it. Apple’s security releases index still ends at “iOS 26.6.2 and iPadOS 26.6.2”, released September 8, 2026, the day before the “Surprise and shine” event.

That index is the one place Apple lists what each software update fixes, and there is no iOS 27 row in it, no iPadOS 27 row and no watchOS 27 row. Everything below comes from Apple’s own support index pages as they stood on the last check, and where Apple has published nothing we say so rather than read anything into the gap.

What the security releases index normally carries

Apple keeps a single index of security releases at support document 100100. Each row names a release, gives the date it went out and links to the list of issues that release addresses. It is the only Apple page that publishes that detail.

The newest row on that index is iOS 26.6.2 and iPadOS 26.6.2, dated September 8, 2026. Three operating systems arrive on Monday, and none of them has a row yet.

Apple has not said when the iOS 27 entry will appear, and it has not said anything about what the release addresses. A reader who wants that detail has nothing to read today, and there is no Apple statement that fills the space.

The update documents that also do not exist yet

Apple normally runs a document called “About iOS Updates” for each major version. The iOS 26 version is support document 123075, and Apple last updated it on September 9, 2026. There is no iOS 27 equivalent.

The general document that would cover update mechanics, “Update your iPhone or iPad” at support document 118575, still carries a last-updated date of December 5, 2025 and does not mention iOS 27 at all. The nearest thing to a description of how Monday works is the wording Apple has used for years: “Automatically Install: When an update is available, iPhone downloads and installs the update overnight while charging and connected to Wi-Fi.”

There is no published download size for iOS 27, no free-space requirement, and no statement that the release will roll out in stages or by region. You can read more about the timing Apple has confirmed in our iOS 27 release date coverage.

Six new products, and the support library has not landed

The pattern extends past the software. Apple has published product pages, press releases and tech specs for six new products, and the support library that normally accompanies them is not live yet.

About Audio Intelligence features on Apple Watch (148354)Published September 9, 2026

The exception is document 148354, “About Audio Intelligence features on Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4”, published on September 9. That is the document where Apple describes the Secure Exclave on Apple Watch, which it calls a dedicated hardware-isolated compartment, and states that no audio recordings are stored. Our Apple Watch Series 12 launch coverage and the full event recap cover what else Apple announced that day.

What Apple has not said

  • No iOS 27 security content page, and no list of addressed issues for iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or watchOS 27.
  • No retention period for any Apple Intelligence data, on device or in Private Cloud Compute.
  • No per-feature map of which requests stay on the iPhone and which go to Private Cloud Compute.
  • No explanation of the gap itself. Apple has not said that the documents are late, or when they will appear.
  • No download size, free-space figure or staged-rollout statement for iOS 27.

One caution on method: these are negatives established by checking Apple’s index pages. A brand-new standalone document that is not yet linked from an index could exist without showing up in that check.

iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27 all arrive on Monday, September 14 as free updates, and iPhone 18 Pro pre-orders open today at 5 a.m. PT ahead of the September 18 release date covered in our iPhone 18 Pro launch guide. Support document 100100 is the page to watch on Monday.
