iPhone 17e Now Has 256GB Base Storage and MagSafe Support

Apple has introduced the latest iPhone 17e, and the headline change is clear. The new model now starts with 256GB of storage while keeping the $599 starting price. At the same time, Apple has added MagSafe support, bringing faster wireless charging and better accessory compatibility to its most affordable iPhone in the lineup.

The jump from 128GB on last year’s iPhone 16e to 256GB on iPhone 17e gives buyers more room for high resolution photos, 4K video, apps, and games without paying extra. Apple also adds MagSafe and Qi2 support for wireless charging up to 15W, compared to 7.5W Qi charging on the previous model, which means chargers, wallets, stands, and cases now snap directly to the back with proper alignment.

According to Apple, iPhone 17e delivers major upgrades while staying at the same entry price.

“iPhone 17e combines powerful performance and features our users love at an exceptional value,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing.

Performance, Camera, and Design

iPhone 17e runs on the new A19 chip built on a 3-nanometer process, along with Apple’s C1X modem that delivers up to 2x faster speeds than the C1 in iPhone 16e. The phone features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with Ceramic Shield 2 for improved scratch resistance and reduced glare.

The camera system includes:

  • 48MP Fusion camera
  • Optical quality 2x Telephoto
  • 4K Dolby Vision video up to 60 fps
  • Night mode and next generation Portraits

Apple also includes satellite features such as Emergency SOS, Messages, and Find My via satellite, along with Crash Detection for added safety.

Pricing and Availability

iPhone 17e starts at $599 with 256GB storage and also comes in a 512GB option. Pre orders begin Wednesday, March 4, with availability starting March 11. The device comes in black, white, and soft pink.

With double the base storage and the addition of MagSafe, iPhone 17e strengthens its position as the most affordable entry into the iPhone 17 family without raising the starting price.
