Service availability varies by region.”
Who counts as a qualified subscriber
Apple’s own phrase, “new and qualified returning subscribers,” covers two groups: people who have never subscribed to Apple One, and past subscribers who meet requirements the post does not spell out. Anyone currently paying for Apple One is not described as qualifying, since the sentence separates new subscribers from returning ones rather than current ones.

The offer is not limited to iPhone 18 Pro
The same sentence extends the three free months to “eligible new iPhone, iPad, or Mac devices,” not only the two phones named earlier in the post. Apple has not published which specific iPhone, iPad or Mac models qualify beyond iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and it has not said whether a Mac mini or Mac Studio order, both of which reach stores later in September, would also unlock the offer.

What three months of Apple One is worth
Apple’s own pricing page lists Apple One Individual at $21.95 a month, Family at $27.95, and Premier at $39.95, figures confirmed on an Apple Newsroom page dated September 8. Three free months work out to $65.85, $83.85 or $119.85 depending on the tier, though the September 11 post does not say which tier the offer covers, and Apple has not said whether a buyer can choose.

How the date lines up with launch week
September 17 falls after pre-orders opened on Saturday, September 12, and before iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max reach stores on Friday, September 18. Apple has not explained why the Apple One offer opens a day ahead of the hardware itself, and nothing in the post ties the date to any other Apple event that week. Placed against the rest of Apple’s own schedule, September 17 is the only consumer-facing date in launch week that is not a release, a pre-order or an in-store availability date.
