Apple has priced iPhone 18 Pro in ten markets so far, and the storage ladder is the same shape in every one of them. In each currency the step to 512GB, the step to 1TB and the step to 2TB sit in a fixed 1:2:3 pattern, and the Pro Max premium is a flat amount that does not change at any tier.
In the US that means $200, $400 and $600 on top of $1,199, with the Pro Max $100 dearer at all four capacities. Change the currency and the numbers change, but the proportions do not. Apple publishes the prices and never describes the structure, so the pattern below is our reading of its own store pages.
The three levers in an iPhone 18 Pro price
- Capacity: four tiers, three steps, always in the same 1:2:3 proportion.
- Size: a flat premium for the 6.9-inch Pro Max, identical at 256GB and at 2TB.
- Connectivity, in the US: the advertised price assumes activation with AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon, and buying without that adds $100 at every tier.
None of the three changes the price of the others, which is why the whole line reads as a grid rather than a set of packages. Colour sits outside the grid entirely, since all four finishes cost the same.

Every step in that table is double or triple the first one, and every Pro Max premium repeats unchanged at 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB. France is the odd market in one respect only: it charges 30 euros more than Germany at every tier, on the same steps, and neither store page explains why.
What the fixed shape does not fix
The ladder keeps its proportions everywhere, but its weight relative to the phone does not. Adding up all three steps and comparing that with the 256GB price gives a spread of more than 20 points.

Those shares are our arithmetic on Apple’s published figures, and they compare each market only with itself. We are not converting currencies here, because a conversion answers a different question than the one a buyer in Sydney or Mumbai is asking.
Why the grid makes the decision easier
Because the two hardware levers are independent, you can settle them in either order. Deciding on the bigger screen never raises the cost of more storage, and the storage you pick never changes what the extra 38 grams of iPhone 18 Pro Max costs you.
It also means one sum answers the whole grid in any market. Take the 256GB price, add one step for 512GB, two for 1TB, three for 2TB, and add the local Pro Max premium once if you want the larger phone. The full US price list and the launch specifications are the rest of the picture.
What Apple has not said
- That any of this structure exists. Apple publishes four prices per model per market and no description of how they are built.
- Prices for iPhone 18 Pro in any market beyond these ten, and no figure for the second wave of countries arriving on Friday, September 25.
- Why France sits 30 euros above Germany at all four capacities.
- The $100 US difference between a carrier-connected and an unlocked iPhone 18 Pro, which Apple states only as a policy about connectivity discounts.
- Any usable-capacity figure once iOS 27 is preinstalled, at any tier, in any market.
