Apple has not published how much memory the iPhone Duo has, and it has never published that figure for any iPhone. What its specifications carry instead is a speed comparison: the A20 Pro has up to 50 percent more memory bandwidth than the A19 Pro, which describes how fast memory moves rather than how much of it there is.
The blank is ordinary for an iPhone and awkward for this one. The Duo is the first iPhone that drives two displays at once, the first that runs two apps side by side in Split View, and at $1,999 it is the most expensive iPhone Apple has sold.

The figure that circulated before the keynote
A 12GB memory figure moved through pre-event reporting for both the Duo and the iPhone 18 Pro. Apple has confirmed neither, so we do not print it as a specification, and nobody should decide on a $1,999 phone on the strength of it.
Memory is one of the few components Apple has never listed on an iPhone specification page. The capacity figures that do reach the public usually come from teardowns and developer tools once a phone is on sale, which for the Duo means October 23 at the earliest.
Why memory is a bigger question on a folding iPhone
Every performance claim Apple makes for the A20 Pro compares this year’s chip with last year’s in a phone that has one screen. The Duo asks the same silicon to do several things no iPhone has done.
- Light two displays, a 7.6-inch inner panel at 1878 by 2670 and a 5.4-inch outer panel at 1398 by 2034, both running ProMotion to 120Hz and both listed as Always-On.
- Hold two apps open at once in Split View on the inner display.
- Run a custom display engine that Apple names, credits with driving both displays and never quantifies.
- Run Apple Intelligence and the Siri AI beta, whose on-device models sit alongside whatever else is open.
- Ship on iOS 27.1 rather than the iOS 27 other iPhones get on Monday, September 14, a version Apple has not dated or released.
The claims Apple gives instead, and what each leaves out

None of those is a benchmark, and Apple publishes no test conditions for any of them. They are the same class of claim it makes for the iPhone 18 Pro, which has one panel to light and no Split View to keep open.
What it changes about buying one
Storage is the only capacity you choose at checkout, and Apple publishes every tier of it, from $1,999 for 256GB to $3,199 for 2TB. Memory is not a choice, so the practical cost of the blank is narrower than it first looks. It removes any way to compare the Duo with foldables that do print the number, and any way to judge multitasking headroom before the phone is in your hands.
If that headroom is what decides between the Duo and an iPhone 18 Pro Max at $1,299, the honest answer is that it cannot be decided this week. Nobody outside Apple has run two apps on a lit 7.6-inch fold, and the first chance to try comes when the phone ships.

- The memory capacity of iPhone Duo, in any unit, anywhere.
- Whether memory varies between the four storage tiers.
- How much memory Apple Intelligence, Split View or the display engine reserves.
- Any test conditions behind the bandwidth, Neural Engine or sustained performance claims.
- A fold-cycle rating, a crease measurement, a battery capacity in mAh, or a repair price for any part of the phone.
Pre-orders open Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. PT, the Duo ships Friday, October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions, and 28 more follow on Friday, October 30. iOS 27 reaches other iPhones on Monday, September 14 while the Duo waits on iOS 27.1, and since Apple has never added a memory line to an iPhone spec sheet, this is one blank it is unlikely to fill itself.
