Apple does not include a power adapter with the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro in the UK and EU when you buy it through the Apple Store, so you need to plan for charging at checkout. This same box change also applies to Apple’s other newly announced MacBooks in those regions, including MacBook Neo and MacBook Air, across EU countries like Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
Apple already started moving in this direction last year with the base 14-inch MacBook Pro, and now the policy covers this week’s MacBook refresh in the UK and EU.
You still get the charging cable, so you are not left without a way to connect to power. Apple includes a USB-C Charge Cable or a MagSafe 3 cable with these MacBooks worldwide, but you will not find the wall adapter in the UK or EU package.
If you do not already own a compatible USB-C Power Delivery adapter, add one during checkout or buy it later from Apple’s accessories store, where you will see options like 70W and 140W adapters depending on your MacBook Pro configuration.
Outside the UK and EU, Apple still bundles a power adapter at no extra cost, and Apple’s own MacBook Neo spec sheet shows a 20W USB-C Power Adapter listed in the box in markets where Apple includes it.
