Opera One Updates Browser With a Volume Booster and Better PiP

opera One new features

Opera just released a software update for its Opera One web browser that focuses heavily on improving the daily video and audio experience. The latest version introduces new multimedia tools designed to give users better control over their media playback and virtual meetings.

Highlighting the release is a built-in volume amplifier and a completely redesigned picture-in-picture mode that integrates natively with major streaming and conferencing platforms.

The browser amplifies quiet tabs with a new volume booster

A major addition to this release is a native audio tool that can increase the sound of any specific tab by up to 500 percent. Users typically need to install third-party extensions to achieve this kind of extreme volume limit.

Opera built this feature directly into the browser to help people clearly hear quiet videos or low-volume podcasts without affecting the rest of the system audio.

Alongside the booster, the application now includes independent volume controls for every open tab. This allows people to keep background music playing softly in one window while amplifying a different video stream in another window.

A redesigned pop-out player enhances video streaming and online meetings

The update also overhauls the Video Popout feature to improve multitasking during remote work and casual viewing. The company now offers full picture-in-picture support for any video conferencing platform that uses the standard protocol, including Zoom.

Instead of using a single global setting, the browser allows custom picture-in-picture permissions for individual websites. To make accessing content faster, the sidebar now features dedicated shortcut buttons for platforms like YouTube and Twitch.

Users can pin these panels to split their screen or pop the video out into a floating window. The floating player also automatically adjusts its visual style to match the current theme of the interface.
