Samsung Display and LG Display have reportedly started mass production of OLED panels for Apple’s 2026 product lineup, covering major products expected to launch in the second half of this year.
According to ETNews, both South Korean display makers will supply OLED panels for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, foldable iPhone, OLED iPad mini, MacBook Pro, and Apple Watch Series 12. The report says BOE is not part of Apple’s 2026 OLED supply plan after quality issues affected its iPhone 17 Pro panel shipments last year.
Samsung Display will reportedly supply OLED panels for the foldable iPhone, iPad mini, and MacBook Pro, while LG Display will handle all OLED panels for the Apple Watch Series 12. Samsung and LG will jointly supply panels for the iPhone 18 Pro models.
The report also says Samsung Display’s 8.6-generation OLED production line will begin operating next month, which will support OLED panel production for the MacBook Pro. Apple’s shift to OLED across more products shows how important display quality, power efficiency, and mass production reliability have become for its hardware plans.
Apple still wants a wider supplier base, but Samsung and LG currently lead in OLED technology, quality control, and large-scale production.
