Apple TV+ series Shrinking will return for season 4 with a fresh storyline and the full cast back on screen. The update comes after the season 3 finale, which felt like a natural ending because the show originally followed a three-season plan.
Bill Lawrence, co-creator of the show, shared that the finale marked the end of the original story arc. He said, “This is the ending of the three-season story we pitched…This is the finale of that three-season story.” The team decided to stay true to that plan even after choosing to continue the series.

The first three seasons focused on Jimmy’s journey through grief, forgiveness, and moving forward after personal loss. With that story now complete, the next season will take a different direction.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that season 4 will introduce a significant time jump. The gap will go beyond one or two years, which will change where characters are and how their lives have progressed.
Lawrence confirmed that the entire main cast will return, including Harrison Ford. He said, “It’s not an accident that Alice goes to school at Wesleyan University and that in the end of the finale, she’s going by to have dinner at Paul’s house…So, yes, Harrison’s back on the show.”
The new season will not repeat earlier themes. Instead, it will explore a different phase of Jimmy’s life and relationships while keeping the core characters central to the story.
The Hollywood Reporter states that the creators plan at least two more seasons, with a possibility of extending the show through season six.
Lawrence also confirmed that Michael J. Fox will return and hinted at potential spinoffs focused on supporting characters.
Fans can stream all three seasons of Shrinking on Apple TV+ while waiting for the next chapter.
