Apple has released tvOS 26.2 beta 3 to developers, just a week after the previous build. The new beta keeps Apple TV on track for a wider rollout of tvOS 26.2 in December.
tvOS 26.2 focuses on profiles and family controls. You can now create Apple TV user profiles without linking an Apple Account, which helps with guests, roommates, and kids. A new kids mode in the TV app lets you lock a child profile to age-appropriate content.
How to install tvOS 26.2 beta 3
- On your Apple TV, open Settings.
- Go to System > Software Updates.
- Turn on Beta Updates with your developer account.
- Select tvOS 26.2 beta 3, then choose Download and Install.
What is new in tvOS 26.2
Across the 26.2 cycle, the main changes stay the same. Account-free profiles make it easier to add people without managing extra Apple IDs, while kids mode applies ratings in the TV app so children only see approved shows and movies.
Beta 3 also brings the usual bug fixes and small performance improvements. If you try it on your Apple TV, let us know in the comments what you notice.
