Data security company Blancco confirmed that secondary market sales for Apple computers are accelerating. As companies upgrade older equipment, a huge wave of used hardware is entering the refurbishment pipeline. This growing interest in secondhand laptops reflects a broader shift toward adopting the ecosystem in corporate environments.
Because Apple devices tend to hold value longer than competing hardware, businesses are looking for faster ways to securely wipe large batches of machines. This need pushed Blancco to team up with hardware maker Cambrionix to build an industrial erasing station.
The erasing tool handles sixteen machines in twenty minutes
The joint setup allows information technology teams to wipe the data off sixteen Mac computers simultaneously in under twenty minutes. It combines Blancco Eraser software with a heavy-duty connection hub. If a business needs to process even more devices, it can easily attach additional hubs to the system.
The companies claim this combination can fully process up to forty-eight computers every hour. Along with securely deleting the internal drives to meet strict compliance standards, the system automatically reinstalls the operating system. This prepares the computers for immediate resale or reassignment.
Traditionally, large companies hire third-party disposal firms to handle this cleanup process. However, as more corporate fleets adopt the Apple ecosystem, organizations want to bring the wiping process inside their own buildings.
Blancco representative Kon Maragelis noted that the demand is heavily driven by cloud-first companies and developer-focused work environments pushing through regular equipment refresh cycles.
