Apple’s “Welcome Home” event takes place today, October 13, 2026, but anyone expecting a new MacBook Pro, iMac, or iPad mini will likely have to wait another two weeks. The company is focusing today’s announcements on its smart home ecosystem, with a new HomeView display, HomePod mini 2, and Apple TV 4K expected to headline the launch.

Apple confirmed the event through a teaser shared by marketing chief Greg Joswiak. As we previously reported, the event begins at 9 a.m. ET in New York, with new Siri AI capabilities expected across Apple’s home products.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Apple has scheduled a separate hardware launch for October 27, when several major Mac and iPad upgrades could finally arrive.

No New Macs at Apple’s October 13 Event

Apple is reportedly saving its next Mac announcements for later this month, including the long-awaited touchscreen MacBook Pro with an OLED display.

According to recent reports, the upcoming Mac lineup includes:

  • Touchscreen MacBook Pro: Redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch models featuring OLED displays, touch input, thinner designs, and a Dynamic Island.
  • 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6: An updated entry-level model featuring Apple’s next-generation M6 silicon.
  • M6 iMac: A refreshed all-in-one desktop with improved processing performance and graphics capabilities.

The touchscreen MacBook Pro is particularly significant because it would introduce direct touch interaction to Apple’s professional laptops for the first time.

Apple has already introduced M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models earlier this year, making the reported October launch another major update to the lineup.

No OLED iPad Mini Today Either

The next-generation iPad mini is another product expected to miss today’s announcements. Apple is reportedly preparing a substantial display upgrade, replacing the current LCD panel with OLED technology.

The new display should deliver deeper blacks, improved contrast, and better pixel-level brightness control. Reports also point to a landscape-oriented front camera and a redesigned speaker system.

However, Apple has yet to confirm the device’s specifications or release date.
