Apple Store Goes Down Ahead of Surprise and Shine iPhone Event

Apple Store App May Soon Add AI Virtual Shopping Assistant

Apple has taken its online Store offline just hours before its “Surprise and Shine” iPhone event on September 9, signaling that new products are about to join the lineup.

The company regularly closes its online storefront before major hardware launches, allowing it to update product pages, pricing, configurations, and availability before sales begin again.

What Apple is expected to announce

Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” event begins at 10 a.m. PT, which is 10:30 p.m. IST in India. Apple will stream the event through its website, Apple TV app, and YouTube.

Several major products are expected during the event, including:

  • iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max
  • Apple’s first foldable iPhone, widely rumored as the iPhone Duo
  • Apple Watch Series 12
  • Apple Watch Ultra 4
  • AirPods 5
  • Release dates for iOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, and other software updates

The standard iPhone 18 is reportedly expected later, rather than appearing alongside the Pro models at today’s launch.

Apple should bring the online Store back after the event with updated product pages and purchasing details for its newly announced devices.
