Apple’s next Apple TV 4K could arrive with a much newer processor than earlier rumors suggested, giving the streaming box enough power for Apple Intelligence and future Siri features. Previous reports pointed to the A17 Pro, but a new code reference now suggests Apple is testing hardware based on the A19 generation.
The current Apple TV 4K uses the A15 Bionic, so either the A19 or A19 Pro would deliver a major performance upgrade. Apple has also gone longer than usual without refreshing the Apple TV hardware, which makes a bigger chip jump more realistic for the next model.

Aaron Perris discovered a reference to an unreleased Apple TV model identified as AppleTV18,1, with the numbering suggesting that the device will use either the A19 or A19 Pro chip.

Apple used similar identifiers for the iPhone 17 family, where different models shipped with A19 and A19 Pro processors. That connection does not confirm the exact chip, but it gives a stronger indication that Apple has moved beyond the previously rumored A17 Pro.
The A19 Pro would make particular sense if Apple plans to bring its most advanced Siri and Apple Intelligence features to the Apple TV. A more capable processor would also give Apple additional headroom for future tvOS features, gaming, and smarter on-device processing.
Apple Intelligence could drive the upgrade
Apple Intelligence support is expected to become one of the main additions to the next Apple TV 4K, especially as Apple expands its new Siri features across more devices.
Apple has not announced the new Apple TV 4K yet, but the latest code leak suggests the upcoming model could receive one of the largest processor upgrades in the product’s recent history.
