A leaked video has offered the clearest look yet at what appears to be the iPhone 18 Pro’s upgraded Dynamic Island, showing a new interface capable of handling three Live Activities at the same time. The demonstration was activated inside the iOS 27 simulator just hours before Apple’s September 9 event.
The timing is especially interesting because Apple CEO John Ternus also posted a mysterious 14-second teaser ahead of his first major iPhone launch as CEO, although his video appears more closely connected to the rumored variable-aperture camera than the Dynamic Island.
iPhone 18 Pro could display three Live Activities
The leaked demonstration shows the Dynamic Island switching between three separate Live Activities. Current iPhones support up to two simultaneous activities around the Dynamic Island, so the additional slot would give users more information without opening an app.

According to the leak, iOS 27 enables the new layout when the sensor region measures less than 100 layout points wide, equivalent to under 16.57mm. The iPhone 17 Pro reportedly uses a 20.76mm sensor region.

That requirement supports months of reports that Apple plans to shrink the Dynamic Island on the Pro models. Earlier iPhone 18 Pro screen protector leaks pointed to a substantially narrower cutout, while display analyst Ross Young previously backed reports that Apple would keep the Dynamic Island while reducing its size.
The expected changes include:
- A smaller centered Dynamic Island
- Support for three simultaneous Live Activities
- Some Face ID hardware moving beneath the display
- More usable status-bar space around the cutout
Apple is expected to confirm the final design during its September 9 “Surprise and shine” event, where the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will headline the company’s new flagship lineup.
