Apple rates the iPhone 18 Pro Max at up to 45 hours of video playback and the iPhone Duo at up to 44 hours on its outer display. The smaller iPhone 18 Pro sits at 36 hours. On Apple’s newer typical use metric, the 18 Pro and the Duo both land at 24 hours, with the Pro Max at 30. Those figures come from Apple’s tech specs for each phone.
The Duo is the more complicated case because it has two displays and two batteries. Apple lists a dual battery system with one cell per side, and its playback figure drops from 44 hours on the 5.4-inch outer display to 31 hours on the 7.6-inch inner display. Apple’s 36-hour and 45-hour video figures for the Pro models apply to the eSIM-only versions, according to Apple’s press release. The Duo is eSIM-only everywhere, so its figures need no such note.

Video playback: 45 hours vs 44 hours is closer than it looks
On the outer display, the Duo effectively matches the Pro Max, trailing by one hour at 44 against 45. It beats the standard iPhone 18 Pro by eight hours. That is a strong result for a phone that is 5.2 mm thick when open.
Open the Duo and the number falls to 31 hours, which is five hours below the 18 Pro’s 36 and 14 hours below the Pro Max. Driving a 7.6-inch, 1878 x 2670 panel costs battery, and Apple’s rating makes that trade explicit. Anyone who plans to spend most of the day on the inner display should read 31 hours as the relevant figure, not 44.
Typical use: 24 hours on both the 18 Pro and the Duo
Typical use is the metric Apple leans on for the 18 Pro generation, and here the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro and the Duo are level at up to 24 hours. The Pro Max leads the entire lineup at up to 30 hours.
Apple’s press release notes that the Duo’s 24-hour figure assumes equal use of the inner and outer displays, so heavy inner-display use will pull it below the 18 Pro. Apple has not published battery capacity in milliampere-hours for any of the three phones, and it has not published a streamed video rating for the Duo.
Charging speeds: the Pro models are five minutes quicker on a cable
All three phones reach 50 percent from a 60W USB-C adapter, but the Pro models do it in around 15 minutes while the Duo takes about 20 minutes, according to Apple’s tech specs. Apple’s press release adds a Pro Max example: five minutes on a cable gives about seven hours of video playback. No equivalent figure is published for the Duo.
Wireless charging is a draw. Every model takes 30 minutes to 50 percent with a 35W adapter and MagSafe, and MagSafe and Qi2 both top out at 25W on all three. Apple does not put a charging adapter in any of the boxes, only a 1 m USB-C cable, so the 60W or 35W adapter is a separate purchase.
