Apple’s first foldable iPhone will reportedly launch as the iPhone Duo, giving the company a new name for its biggest iPhone design change in years. The device is expected to arrive with two displays, Apple Pencil support, an A20 Pro chip, and a starting price close to $2,000.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple plans to call the device iPhone Duo rather than iPhone Ultra, a name that had appeared in earlier speculation. The Duo name appears to refer directly to the phone’s inner and outer displays.
iPhone Duo price and storage
The iPhone Duo will reportedly start at around $1,999 with 256GB of storage, while higher-capacity versions could push the price closer to $3,000.

Apple has also absorbed part of the recent increase in memory component costs to keep the entry price near the $2,000 mark, although customers choosing larger storage options will pay considerably more.
Colors, specs, and release timing
Apple reportedly plans to offer the iPhone Duo in white and dark blue at launch. The foldable is also expected to use Apple’s A20 Pro chip and C2 modem, alongside dual 48-megapixel rear cameras and a 12-megapixel camera designed for video calls.
The device will feature a magnetic hinge and support side-by-side apps with iPad-style multitasking, giving the larger internal display more flexibility for productivity and media.
Gurman also reports that Apple Pencil support is planned for the iPhone Duo, while sales could begin as early as October. That timing would place its release a few weeks after the expected iPhone 18 Pro launch.
