iPhone Duo records 4K Dolby Vision video at 24 to 120 fps on its rear cameras, with Cinematic mode, Dual Capture, 4K time-lapse, Center Stage on the rear camera and what Apple calls ultra-stabilized video. The press release adds that Cinematic effects can be applied at 60 fps after capture.
The 120 fps ceiling is the headline, since Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro release only quotes a frame rate for Cinematic effects, at up to 60 fps, and does not state a top rate for standard 4K video. The specs below are from Apple’s tech specs and press release, and the camera hardware behind them is in our iPhone Duo camera coverage.
iPhone Duo video specs by camera
The two rear cameras share the same video modes, since both are 48MP sensors feeding the same pipeline. The two front cameras are different: the outer 12MP Center Stage camera records 4K Dolby Vision at up to 60 fps, while the under-display camera behind the inner screen tops out at 1080p.

Cinematic mode and effects at 60 fps
Cinematic mode, Apple’s shallow depth-of-field video mode, is listed on the Duo’s tech specs without a frame-rate limit of its own. Apple’s press release says Cinematic effects can be applied at 60 fps after capture, which is the same figure Apple gave for Cinematic effects on the iPhone 18 Pro.
Apple has not published whether the full 120 fps rate supports Dolby Vision HDR and Cinematic mode at the same time, or whether 120 fps is limited to a slow-motion setting. The tech specs list 4K Dolby Vision at 24 to 120 fps as a single line.
Dual Capture, Center Stage and stabilization
Dual Capture records from the front and rear cameras at once. On the Duo that could mean either front camera depending on whether the phone is open or closed, and Apple has not said which combinations are supported.
Center Stage on the rear camera keeps you framed when the phone is propped open and the outer display serves as a viewfinder, and it pairs with Duo FaceTime, which lets nearby friends join a call on the outer display. Ultra-stabilized video appears on the tech specs without further detail, and Apple has not said how it compares with Action mode on earlier iPhones.

What the iPhone 18 Pro has that the Duo does not list
The iPhone 18 Pro press release names Cinematic effects up to 60 fps, 4K Dolby Vision HDR time-lapse and an enhanced Audio Mix with music isolation, and our iPhone 18 Pro camera explainer covers the variable-aperture lens behind it. The Duo’s tech specs list 4K time-lapse and Cinematic mode but do not mention Audio Mix, ProRes, Log recording or spatial video.
Apple has not published whether those omissions are real or simply left off a shorter spec page. iPhone Duo pre-orders open Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. PT, with availability on Friday, October 23, and we will test the 120 fps mode as soon as we have a unit.
