The iPhone 18 Pro comes in Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy, per Apple’s press release. That is the fourth different palette in four years: the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro each shipped in four titanium finishes, and the iPhone 17 Pro dropped to three colors, Silver, Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue, when Apple moved the Pro to an aluminum unibody.
Across the four generations Apple has offered 15 finishes and kept none of the names for more than two years. Black is back after the 17 Pro skipped it, Cosmic Orange lasted a single year, and Burgundy and Glacier are new. Here is every Pro color since 2023, with the material behind each one, drawn from Apple’s tech specs and press releases.

iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro: the titanium years
The iPhone 15 Pro introduced titanium to the Pro line and named every color after it: Black Titanium, White Titanium, Blue Titanium and Natural Titanium. The back was textured matte glass, and the phone weighed 187 g, per Apple’s tech specs.

The iPhone 16 Pro kept the material and three of the four names. Blue Titanium went away and Desert Titanium, a warmer tone, took its place alongside Black, White and Natural. iPhone 17 Pro: three colors and a new material
The 2025 Pro switched from titanium to an aluminum unibody with Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and Ceramic Shield on the back, and the palette shrank to three: Silver, Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue. The Titanium suffix disappeared with the metal, and for the first time in this run there was no black option at all.

iPhone 18 Pro: Black returns, Burgundy and Glacier arrive
Apple’s press release names Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy. Black returns after a one-year absence. Silver is the only name carried over from the 17 Pro. Glacier is a light blue, and Burgundy is a dark cherry red, the first red-family finish on a Pro in this four-year span. Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue are gone.
Pre-event reports had used the names Dark Cherry, Sky Blue and Dark Gray; Apple’s official names supersede them. The design otherwise carries over from the 17 Pro generation with what Apple calls a new rear finish on the aluminum unibody, which uses 85 percent recycled aluminum in the enclosure and 40 percent recycled content overall. Which colors came and went
Grouping the 15 finishes by hue, which is this site’s framing rather than Apple’s, shows the pattern: only the black and white-or-silver slots have been filled in three of four years, and no color name has survived unchanged for more than two.

The non-Pro phones Apple launched in 2025 took a different route: the iPhone 17 comes in Black, White, Mist Blue, Sage and Lavender, and the iPhone Air in Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold and Sky Blue, per Apple’s tech specs. The Pro line has not offered five colors at once in this span.

- Whether any iPhone 18 Pro color ships later than the others or is limited by storage tier or country.
- How the new rear finish is produced, or how it differs from the 17 Pro’s surface.
- Whether the silicone, FineWoven and Clear Case colors are matched to the four phone finishes.
- Whether Cosmic Orange or any titanium-era finish will return.
