Apple Prepares Car Key Support for New Cadillac Models

Apple appears to be moving closer to bringing digital car key support to select Cadillac vehicles. New backend code, first seen by MacRumors, shows Cadillac on Apple’s internal list of supported brands. This update signals that Apple is laying the groundwork while manufacturers finish their end of the integration.

Cadillac joins several other brands Apple highlighted at WWDC 2025. At that event, Apple said 13 companies would soon support digital car keys, and Cadillac was part of that group. As you follow the developments, you’ll notice that Apple has already added backend support for GM, Voyah, and Smart. Even so, the feature will only work once carmakers enable it on their side.

How Support Will Roll Out

Apple has offered NFC-based car keys in the Wallet app since 2022. The feature lets you lock, unlock, and start your vehicle with your iPhone or Apple Watch. Many brands have adopted it, and Cadillac seems next in line. The final step now depends on GM. Once GM enables the feature, Cadillac owners will finally use digital keys.
