New leak reveals Apple’s iPhone 18 design stays the same with fresh colors

iPhone Fold Camera vs iPhone 18 Pro Camera: Early Leaks Compared

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 lineup will not bring major design changes, as new leaks suggest the company plans to keep the overall look similar while shifting focus toward new color options that stand out more than hardware updates.

Reports indicate that while minor refinements are coming, the biggest visual difference users will notice this year will come from fresh finishes rather than a structural redesign.

Leaker Fixed Focus Digital shared new details in a recent Weibo post (translated below).

“Apple has not made many adjustments to the iPhone 18 series. Some novel Android games are not used to fit into the 18 series, such as off-screen and super-song. In fact, the current scheme is followed. The black edges and borders are similar, and the color matching update is the main method.

This aligns with earlier expectations that Apple will stick to its current design direction, with bezels and borders staying largely unchanged while subtle tweaks like a smaller Dynamic Island and a more unified back design improve the overall finish. At the same time, Apple continues to avoid features seen on some Android devices, such as under-display components or aggressive curved designs.

Apple appears to be betting on color as the key upgrade this year, with rumors pointing to a new deep red variant alongside other tested options like purple and coffee brown. The strong response to Cosmic Orange on the iPhone 17 Pro likely influenced this approach, as Apple looks to refresh the lineup without altering its core design language.

This strategy makes sense given that the iPhone 17 Pro already introduced noticeable design changes, and reports suggest Apple is saving a bigger overhaul for its 20th anniversary iPhone model.
