Nanoleaf Releases An $80 Smart Ceiling Light With Matter Support

Nanoleaf multicolor celing light

Smart lighting brand Nanoleaf just released a new ceiling fixture that ties directly into your existing smart home setup. The Smart Multicolor Ceiling Light costs $80 and brings both functional white light and colorful ambient glows to any room. It connects over Wi-Fi and supports the new Matter standard. This means it easily links up with major platforms, including the Apple ecosystem, out of the box.

Dual-sided lighting creates functional brightness and colorful room glows

The light measures 13.8 inches across and sits just over an inch thick against the ceiling. Inside, it packs 196 LEDs that push out up to 2600 lumens of brightness. The design uses two different light sources to light up your space. The main downlight handles your typical room lighting with adjustable white light that ranges from warm to cool tones.

At the same time, an upward facing backlight throws colors against the ceiling for a layered effect. You can control each side on its own. The light includes 28 separate color zones and supports millions of shades. If you want to use multiple color gradients at once, you will need to set those up through the official Nanoleaf app.

Hardwired design works with modern platforms and voice control apps

Installing the fixture requires hardwiring it directly into your ceiling, where it works with standard light switches. It also supports the brand’s own wireless smart switch if you want to expand your physical controls. The company built the light with low blue light tech to help reduce eye strain during everyday use.

Because it supports Matter over Wi-Fi, the fixture integrates smoothly with a HomeKit setup. You can use Siri and the Home app to turn the light on, adjust the brightness, and change the colors. This combination of standard wiring and broad smart home support makes it a simple way to upgrade a basic room light without spending a lot of money.
