People often share a photo or video to their status and realize right after that they made a typing mistake. Up until now, fixing that simple error meant deleting the entire post and uploading the picture all over again. However, WhatsApp is finally testing a much-needed fix for this problem. A small group of testers can now edit the captions on their daily status updates without having to take the original post down.
You have fifteen minutes to fix your mistakes on any update
According to recent reports, the feature is rolling out to a limited number of Android users running the newest beta version of the app. Once a user posts a photo or video to their story, they will have exactly 15 minutes to make any changes to the text attached to it.

The process is very straightforward. You can tap a small pencil icon directly next to the text on your active status to start typing again. Alternatively, you can open your main list of updates and choose the edit option directly from the hidden settings menu.
Unlike regular messages sent in a private chat, any text that you change on your status will not show an edited label to the people reading it. This means your friends will never know if you had to jump back in to fix a spelling mistake.
While the handy tool is currently locked to early beta testers, the company usually brings these features to everyone after a few weeks of testing. It gives daily users one less thing to worry about when sharing quick updates with friends and family.
