What is the new murder mystery about?

Season 2 begins after María receives a promotion to lieutenant. Her new position gives her more responsibility within the department, but it also places her between police rules and her determination to uncover the truth.
The case begins when officers discover the body of a student activist. The investigation soon leads María, Valentina, Gabina and Ángeles back to the 1968 student massacre. Before they can understand the connection, another body appears involving someone linked to that violent chapter of Mexican history.
The killer appears to be targeting people associated with buried crimes and delivering a personal form of justice. Since the bodies and evidence lead directly toward the police, the investigation could expose people inside the department.
The Azules must identify the murderer while dealing with officials who would rather keep the past hidden. Their search also raises difficult questions about victims, criminals and people seeking revenge.
What happened in Women in Blue Season 1?
The first season followed four women who joined Mexico’s first female police force during the 1970s. María, Valentina, Gabina and Ángeles initially believed they were helping create meaningful change.
They soon learned that officials had formed the women’s unit largely as a publicity stunt. Authorities wanted to distract the public from a serial killer who was targeting women across the city. Despite discrimination from male officers and limited support from their superiors, the four women began conducting their own investigation.
Their work proved that they were capable investigators and helped transform the Azules from a symbolic police unit into a team willing to challenge the system around them. Season 2 continues that journey while giving the officers a politically sensitive case with consequences for the entire department.

Bárbara Mori returns as María, while Ximena Sariñana reprises her role as Ángeles. Natalia Téllez returns as Valentina, and Amorita Rasgado once again plays Gabina.
The wider cast includes Miguel Rodarte, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Christian Tappán, Horacio García Rojas and Bruno Bichir. Fernando Rovzar and Pablo Aramendi created the series, with Lemon Studios producing it for Apple TV.
