Apple has made iPadOS 27.2 public beta 3 available to iPad owners registered with the Apple Beta Software Program. The public seed uses build 24B5099f, matching the third developer beta issued on October 5.
The build number appears in Apple’s official release listing. Apple also provides joint iOS and iPadOS beta 3 notes, which focus mainly on developer-facing changes and known problems. Our report on the developer release has additional background on the rollout.
Apple does not identify a new iPad feature that is exclusive to beta 3. The notes say Describe a Shortcut may return a “Something went wrong” message. They also warn developers that cloning an iPadOS 27.2 simulator can fail because of incorrect file permissions, although that problem affects app testing rather than normal iPad use.

Install iPadOS 27.2 public beta 3
If your Apple Account is enrolled, open Settings and go to General, Software Update, then Beta Updates. Choose iPadOS 27 Public Beta, return to the previous screen, and install the update when it appears. Devices already using an earlier iPadOS 27.2 public beta should receive beta 3 through the same Software Update page.
Make a current backup before updating and avoid installing prerelease software on an iPad you cannot afford to troubleshoot. Apple’s program FAQ notes that backups created on beta software may not restore to an earlier release. Our iPadOS 27.2 beta 2 report covers the previous build. Testers can send reproducible problems to Apple through the Feedback Assistant app included with the beta.
