Apple released iPadOS 27.2 beta 2 for registered developers on September 21, 2026. The new seed uses build number 24B5089g and arrives after the first iPadOS 27.2 developer beta.
The build and date appear on Apple’s official Developer Releases page. Apple also maintains shared iOS and iPadOS 27.2 release notes, although those notes do not identify a separate set of changes that arrived only in beta 2.
The documented iPadOS 27.2 changes
Apple says the 27.2 cycle expands an alternative App Tracking Transparency prompt in the European Union. Users in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Romania must see the prompt again each year. The same change also applies to iPhone, and our ATT prompt explainer covers the regional requirements.

The current notes identify two known software issues. Personalized summaries may not generate in the Health app’s Insights section, and Describe a Shortcut may fail with an error. Apple lists both against iOS and iPadOS 27.2 generally rather than marking them as new beta 2 regressions.
Developers testing purchases also get StoreKit Testing fixes for introductory offers, storefront and locale propagation, and disabled purchase dialogs. Apple continues to flag a subscription bundle issue that may incorrectly let a customer unbundle one member.
These notes are most useful to app developers rather than everyday iPad users. With no beta-2-specific list from Apple, any other behavior changes should be treated as observations until the company documents them.
How developers can update
Registered developers can open Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates on an eligible iPad. Back up the device before installing because beta software can contain errors and may disrupt normal work.
