Apple is reportedly working with LG Electronics on a seven-product smart home lineup designed to complement its coming home hub. The planned range includes a wired video doorbell, smart deadbolt, thermostat, temperature sensor, indoor camera, outdoor camera and floodlight camera.
Bloomberg reports that Apple helped develop the products while LG will manufacture, brand and support them. Neither company has publicly announced the partnership, final product names, prices or release dates.
The arrangement would let Apple expand the range of accessories around its reported home hub without building and servicing every camera, lock and sensor itself. Apple has previously helped shape accessories sold under partner brands, although this reported LG lineup is unusually broad.

Matter and Thread could widen compatibility
Regulatory documents connected to the LG products point to combinations of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Matter and Thread. Those standards could allow some accessories to work beyond Apple’s ecosystem, but the exact radios and features must be checked separately for each device when LG publishes specifications.
The accessories are expected to integrate with Apple’s new home platform and home hub. MacObserver has separately covered the reported October window for the HomePad-style hub and Apple’s work on a new shared-home operating system.
The LG products are reportedly running behind Apple’s own home hardware and may need several more months before reaching buyers. Regulatory approval indicates development activity, not a guarantee that every listed product will launch unchanged.
Apple is also reportedly developing a separate privacy-focused monitoring device that uses sensors and AI rather than recording conventional video. That Apple project should not be confused with LG’s indoor and outdoor security cameras.
