We finally have our first real look at what Apple has planned for its next big crime series. The platform officially released the trailer for Nocturne, a highly anticipated ten-episode drama landing on our screens this fall. The new show features a heavy-hitting cast led by Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz, and Stephen Graham. It promises plenty of tension as a quiet Pennsylvania town suddenly faces a terrifying and cunning serial killer.
A former detective battles a dangerous killer in his town
The story follows Jonah Lynn, played by Schreiber. He is a former soldier who became a homicide detective. Tired of the rough streets in Philadelphia, he packs up and moves to a small town in Western Pennsylvania. He simply wants a quiet life with his family.
Things take a dark turn when a serial killer named Jurek Walter, played by Graham, begins attacking the town and Jonah’s family. This forces the retired detective back into action. To find the killer’s last missing victim, Jonah has to bring in his surrogate daughter. She is an FBI agent named Saga Bauer, played by Beetz. The show asks a simple question: how far will Jonah go to protect the people he loves?

The plot draws directly from The Sandman, a globally bestselling crime novel written by Lars Kepler. The original book is part of a wildly popular Joona Linna series that has sold 20 million copies around the world.
The ten episode crime drama drops at the end of October
Viewers will not have to wait very long to start watching. Nocturne makes its global debut on Friday, October 30. The Apple TV streaming platform will release the first two episodes on launch day. After that, fans will get one new episode every Friday until the finale drops on December 25.
The series brings some serious creative talent behind the scenes. Rowan Joffé created the television adaptation, while John Hlavin helped develop, write, and run the show. The supporting cast is also packed with familiar faces like Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, and Chrissy Metz.
If you enjoy gripping mysteries with high stakes and strong character drama, this upcoming series looks like a solid addition to your weekend watchlist. It builds on the platform’s recent streak of delivering dark thrillers that keep audiences guessing until the very end.
