Apple TV’s Last Seen builds its missing-person mystery around a compact cast of Australian and British performers. Patrick Brammall leads the six-episode thriller as a father who has never stopped searching for his daughter, while Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes play the family pulled into his investigation.
The six-part production gives each performer a specific place in Ian’s renewed search. Apple’s published cast and story materials confirm the four central roles below without revealing the mystery’s final answer.
- Premiere: September 9, 2026
- Episodes: 6
- Release day: Wednesday
The cast is built around two families pulled toward the same unresolved disappearance. Brammall carries Ian’s certainty, while Lourdes, Peake and Cowell give the mystery another viewpoint and keep the audience from treating his theory as settled fact.

Ian Ridley — Patrick Brammall
Ian was a police detective when his young daughter Maggie disappeared 11 years ago. He now works as a police dispatcher, but his belief that Maggie could still be alive continues to shape his life. A distress call from a teenage girl sends him back into the search.
Sarah — Chloe Jean Lourdes
Apple describes Lourdes as a newcomer. Sarah becomes central to Ian’s renewed investigation after the call raises questions about Maggie’s fate. Apple has not published a detailed official character biography for Sarah, so anything beyond her place in the mystery would move into spoiler territory.
Jenna — Maxine Peake
Jenna is closely connected to Sarah’s side of the story. Peake is known for projects including Say Nothing and Black Mirror.
Henry — Brendan Cowell
Henry is also part of Sarah’s family story. Cowell previously appeared in Dune: Prophecy and Plum.
Who else stars in Last Seen?
Daniel Henshall, whose credits include Mickey 17 and How to Make Gravy; Zahra Newman, seen in Thirteen Lives and Addition; Jessica Wren, known for Mr Inbetween and Devil’s Playground; Tobias Muhafidin, who appeared in Bali 2002.
Apple has confirmed those performers as part of the ensemble but has not published full character descriptions for each supporting role. Viewers should be wary of cast lists that attach unconfirmed character histories or relationships to those names.
Who made the series?
Last Seen is adapted by writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa from Ryan David Jahn’s novel The Dispatcher. Christian Schwochow directs and executive produces. Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta executive produce for 60Forty Films, with Joanna Werner also serving as an executive producer.
The production was set and filmed entirely in Victoria, Australia. Apple premiered two episodes on September 9 and will release the remaining episodes weekly on Wednesdays through October 7. That schedule gives the cast five weeks to unfold a story in which personal grief and a present-day danger are tightly connected.
The limited episode count also gives every supporting performance room to affect the central question without turning the mystery into an oversized ensemble.
Apple says 60Forty Films produced the series, with Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta executive producing. Christian Schwochow directs and executive produces alongside Kris Mrksa, while Joanna Werner also serves as an executive producer on the six-part Australian production.
