Whether Donnie turns on Henry after Ian’s confrontation is the question Episode 4 has to answer, but it is not yet confirmed that he will. “The Lie” leaves him with too much information to return comfortably to the old family arrangement, and too much loyalty to make a clean break easy.
The pressure comes from both directions. Ian now knows Donnie withheld the truth about the van, while Henry knows his brother has begun to understand the danger around Sarah. Episode 4 should show whether Donnie chooses active complicity, a belated confession, or an attempt to protect everyone that satisfies nobody.

Ian has taken away Donnie’s plausible deniability
By the end of Episode 3, Ian has connected the emergency call to Donnie’s van and confronts him over the lies. The accusation does not require Ian to solve the entire disappearance. It requires Donnie to acknowledge that he has been keeping a piece of the story from the person most entitled to know it.

Ready Steady Cut’s recap describes Donnie as caught between his family and the truth. That is the useful starting point for the next episode: he may not know every detail of what Henry did, but he knows enough that staying neutral becomes an increasingly active decision.
Henry has more to lose than an argument
Henry’s authority depends on controlling separate stories. Sarah is kept isolated, Jenna is pushed toward Henry’s version of the past, and Donnie is allowed close enough to be useful but not close enough to ask the right questions. Ian’s confrontation threatens that structure because it makes Donnie an unpredictable witness.
That is why a direct turn against Henry may be difficult. Donnie could fear what exposing him means for Sarah, for Jenna and for his own part in years of silence. A confession can be morally necessary and still feel dangerous to the person making it.
Episode 4 should test which loyalty survives
The honest preview is that no official synopsis currently confirms Donnie’s choice. The story has earned the uncertainty. If he helps Ian, Henry’s carefully managed life starts to collapse. If he protects Henry again, he becomes more than a bystander in Sarah’s confinement.
That uncertainty is the episode’s advantage: Donnie has to act before the series can tell viewers whether he is capable of facing the consequences of that action.
