Fans waiting for Severance season 3 have a small but meaningful update about production timing, casting plans, and the creative team guiding the next chapter of the Apple TV series. Actor Adam Scott recently shared details about when filming will begin and hinted that viewers will meet new characters when the story returns.
Deadline shared a video from an interview with Adam Scott where he discussed the upcoming season. Scott said production will start very soon and emphasized the timing by saying “very, very soon,” which aligns with earlier reports that filming will begin around April.

Scott confirmed the team is preparing to start production shortly, which suggests the next phase of work on the show is already underway. If filming proceeds as expected, the new season will move forward without major delays.
New characters and a new director
Scott also teased that new characters will appear in season 3, though he avoided sharing specific details. He also confirmed he has met director Kogonada and described him as an incredible filmmaker. Reports indicate Kogonada will direct most episodes of the upcoming season.
Ben Stiller directed several episodes across the first two seasons but stepped away from directing duties for season 3 because of another film commitment, though he remains involved creatively. If production stays on schedule, Severance season 3 will likely arrive on Apple TV in mid to late 2027.
It’s to long between seasons. Was hoping it would be this year. Canceling my Apple TV account.
