Lenny Rush joins Slow Horses Season 6 as a new face in the increasingly dangerous world around Slough House. Apple has confirmed the British actor as part of the cast and released a production still showing him beside Christopher Chung, who returns as Roddy Ho.

Apple has not named Rush’s character in its public press notes. However, advance reviews identify him as Reece Nesmith, a young witness who becomes involved with Jackson Lamb and Roddy. That makes him more than a background addition, although viewers should wait for the premiere before treating every reported plot detail as settled.

  • Actor: Lenny Rush
  • Reported character: Reece Nesmith
  • Status: Rush is confirmed by Apple; the character name comes from advance reporting
  • Season premiere: Wednesday, September 16, 2026
  • Episodes: Six, released weekly through October 21
  • Streaming service: Apple TV

Lenny Rush’s Slow Horses role is still partly under wraps

According to advance coverage, Reece Nesmith is an eyewitness who crosses paths with Jackson Lamb and Roddy Ho. Apple has not published that character description, so the safest confirmed detail is that Rush appears with Chung in an official Season 6 image. Their pairing strongly suggests that Roddy will be involved in Reece’s story.

Rush is already known to many British viewers for Am I Being Unreasonable?, which earned him a BAFTA for male performance in a comedy programme. His casting could give Season 6 a different kind of dynamic because Lamb usually deals with trained intelligence officers, political operators and professional threats. A younger civilian witness may require a more protective approach from a team that is rarely good at following normal procedure.

The character also arrives during a season built around danger for the entire unit. Apple’s official premise says the Slow Horses go on the run after Diana Taverner pulls them into a deadly game of retaliation and revenge. The company has not explained whether Reece causes that crisis, witnesses part of it or simply becomes caught in the middle.

What Apple has confirmed about Season 6

The official Season 6 announcement confirms that Rush joins Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Saskia Reeves and other returning cast members. Olivia Cooke also returns as Sid Baker, a development shown in the trailer and covered in our report on the two major returning characters.

Season 6 adapts Mick Herron’s novels Joe Country and Slough House. Apple has confirmed the September release schedule and returning ensemble, but it has not released episode titles or detailed synopses. That leaves Reece’s exact connection to the central threat deliberately unclear.

For now, viewers can expect Rush to play a meaningful new figure whose story is linked to Roddy and Lamb, while the full explanation will come when Season 6 begins. What role do you think Reece will play in the crisis around Slough House? Share your theory in the comments.
