Chris Hansen has finally shared what he thinks about Robert Pattinson playing him in the new movie Primetime. The famous TV host admitted he finds the acting to be a bit overly dramatic, even though he gives the star credit for a pretty solid imitation. The upcoming film dives into the wild rise of his hit hidden-camera show, but the real guy behind the sting operations wants everyone to remember the story is completely made up.
Studio lawyers kept the famous host from watching the final movie
Hansen recently told reporters that he has not even watched the full movie yet. When he showed up to the A24 offices for a private screening, the studio lawyers asked him to sign a massive legal document. He said the paperwork would have forced him to give away the rights to his own name and personal brand. He refused to sign the deal and walked right out the door without seeing a single scene.
Even with that studio drama, he still watched the trailer. He pointed out that Pattinson clearly practiced the voice and look. He even joked that his own wife and kids thought the Hollywood star nailed the impression. Still, Hansen made it clear that the guy on the screen is not a true reflection of how he acts in real life. He noted the movie character says and does weird things he would never actually do, reminding fans that he is just a nice guy trying to catch bad people.

The new thriller drops in theaters this September. It follows the crazy behind-the-scenes action of the massive 2006 show To Catch a Predator. While Hansen respects the popular actors and directors involved, he admitted he questions what Hollywood is really trying to do with his story. For now, he is waiting to see the final cut before giving his full review, while making sure fans know the big-screen version takes a lot of liberties.
