Netflix has finally provided some clarity about the future of XO, Kitty, but fans will need to wait longer for a firm renewal announcement. The streaming service has not officially ordered Season 4 yet.
Netflix is considering two possible endings
According to a new report, Paramount Television Studios has extended Netflix’s option on XO, Kitty. The cast options have also been extended, keeping Anna Cathcart, Sang Heon Lee and other key actors available while discussions continue.

The update suggests that Netflix has not quietly cancelled the romantic comedy series. However, executives and the creative team are still deciding how Kitty Song Covey’s story should continue.
One option is a traditional fourth season featuring more episodes. The other is a feature-length movie that would conclude the remaining storylines. Creator Jenny Han previously ended the original To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before story through a trilogy of Netflix movies, making a final XO, Kitty film a realistic possibility.
Season 3 delivered strong viewing numbers
The delay is surprising because XO, Kitty Season 3 performed well after arriving on Netflix on April 2, 2026. It recorded 12.9 million views during its opening four days and reached the top of Netflix’s English-language television chart.
Season 3 later reached 29.3 million views through June 30 and ranked No. 16 among Netflix’s most-watched series during the reporting period.
The latest season also created a clear path for another chapter. Kitty and Min Ho repaired their relationship and travelled to the United States, where Min Ho planned to meet Kitty’s family.
For now, XO, Kitty Season 4 remains undecided. The extension involving the studio and cast keeps the series alive, but Netflix must still choose between another full season and a final movie.
