The series released two episodes each week and followed Kim Do-hyeon, a quiet bank employee raising his teenage daughter, Kim Min-ji. Behind his harmless appearance, Do-hyeon was once a highly trained black-ops operative known as Agent 66.
The story began when Min-ji disappeared after an argument with her father. Her kidnapping forced Do-hyeon to bring back the skills and connections he had spent years hiding. He eventually reunited with former agents Seong Han-su and Park Jin-cheol, who were also trying to protect their families.
What happens during the final confrontation?
Ju Gang-chan kidnaps the children of Han-su and Jin-cheol and uses them to force the two men into betraying Do-hyeon. They enter his prison cell and appear to beat him while Gang-chan watches.
However, the fight is part of their escape plan.
Han-su and Jin-cheol repeatedly strike the cage and surrounding structure, weakening it without making Gang-chan suspicious. When the businessman moves close enough, Jin-cheol delivers a powerful kick that breaks the enclosure and traps Gang-chan instead.
The three fathers then overpower him and leave him hanging from the rooftop of his own company. Gang-chan loses control of Ju Hak Construction, while the criminal operation he built begins to collapse around him.
Does Ju Gang-chan die?
Do-hyeon gets the opportunity to kill Gang-chan, but he refuses to let revenge control his final decision. His priority remains protecting Min-ji and helping the other fathers rescue their children.
Gang-chan still faces the consequences of his actions. Golden Teeth, whom he previously betrayed, later kills him in public. His company is dismantled, his allies abandon him, and the people he treated as disposable finally turn against him.
The ending gives Gang-chan the punishment he created for himself. Every betrayal leaves him more isolated until nobody remains willing to protect him.
Does Kim Do-hyeon die in Agent Kim Reactivated?
Kim Do-hyeon survives, although government records officially list Agent 66 as dead.
South and North Korean authorities need the Agent 66 case permanently closed. As long as people believe he remains alive, intelligence agencies, former enemies, and criminal groups will continue searching for him and Min-ji.
The authorities therefore stage his death and release a report claiming that a man in his 40s was shot and killed. Min-ji believes the story and visits a memorial where both of her parents are honoured.
Do-hyeon then appears before her and removes his glasses, revealing that he survived. He promises that he will never leave her again.
Do-hyeon receives a new identity, while Min-ji begins using the name Ji-min. Their former lives effectively end, giving them the chance to live together without Agent 66’s enemies following them.
What happens to the new Agent 66?
The new Agent 66 initially sees Do-hyeon as an enemy and wants answers about Ri Eung-ryeong’s manipulation. Do-hyeon honours his promise by handing Eung-ryeong over rather than killing him or using him as leverage.
After learning the truth, the new Agent 66 allows Do-hyeon to leave. He chooses to end the cycle of revenge and wishes Do-hyeon and Min-ji well.
Han-su and Jin-cheol also receive peaceful endings with their children safe. They later visit Do-hyeon’s new home and share a meal with him and Min-ji, giving the three former agents a quiet moment after weeks of violence.
What does the final Baekho Manpower scene mean?
The finale connects Do-hyeon with Baekho Manpower and its leader, Lee Do-gyu. The meeting reflects an important storyline from the original Manager Kim webtoon and leaves room for future missions.
Although Do-hyeon wants a peaceful family life, his connection to Baekho Manpower suggests that his operational career has not completely ended. A second season could follow him taking carefully selected missions while protecting the new identity he shares with Min-ji.
A second season has not received a formal release date, though discussions about continuing the series have reportedly started following the show’s successful first run.
Agent Kim Reactivated gives its main characters fitting endings. Gang-chan loses everything through his own betrayals, the fathers save their children, and Do-hyeon finally chooses family over revenge.
