Episode 4 begins at Pat Murphy’s funeral after Keenan killed him on Sweeney’s orders. Sweeney delivers an emotional speech about loyalty, family, and protecting the neighbourhood, even though he secretly approved Pat’s murder.
Mickey quickly points out the hypocrisy to Jimmy. Sweeney has already sacrificed Davey, considered abandoning Mickey, and ordered Pat’s death. His public image as a caring community leader no longer matches his actions.
Meanwhile, Danny realizes that his father, Keenan, played a role in Pat’s death. He approaches Sweeney and uses the information to demand his old position in the crew. Sweeney responds by warning Keenan that Danny must remain quiet.
Keenan chooses another damaging solution. He asks FBI agent Birdie Polk to arrange Danny’s arrest after planting drugs on him. In return, Keenan agrees to investigate Sweeney’s relationship with the Gambino family and the Starship robbery. Keenan keeps Danny away from the gang, but his actions destroy what remains of their family relationship.
Sweeney secretly sells the cocaine
Jimmy wants to sell the cocaine stolen during the Starship raid, especially since the money could support Pat’s family. Sweeney refuses and claims the drugs will be destroyed.
However, Sweeney secretly sells the cocaine himself for $40,000 per brick. He keeps control of the money and uses part of it to strengthen his image through charitable donations.
The information eventually reaches John Gotti, who orders Sweeney’s murder. Jimmy also learns about the secret deal from Finn, a shop owner the crew pressures for protection money.
Jimmy now understands that Sweeney has cheated the same men who risked their lives for him. Still, when two gunmen corner Sweeney outside the Hibernian Society dinner, Jimmy arrives and kills them.
The final drink between Jimmy and Sweeney carries more tension than warmth. Both men know the truth, and Jimmy’s loyalty now feels temporary.
Bridget returns to her violent past
Brendan Cahill finally reveals that his target is Colonel Gerald Markham, the British operative responsible for killing Bridget’s parents. The revelation makes the IRA operation deeply personal for her.
Bridget agrees to help Cahill, but she keeps the full truth from Jimmy. Her decision adds another secret to a crew already falling apart from within.
Episode 4 leaves Sweeney surrounded by enemies, Keenan working with the FBI, and Bridget moving closer to revenge. What do you think Jimmy will do after discovering Sweeney’s betrayal? Let us know in the comments.
