The Westies Season 2 does not have a release date yet, as MGM+ has not officially renewed the crime drama for another season. However, the creators have already discussed continuing the story and have expressed confidence that Season 2 will happen.

There is no production schedule for Season 2 yet, so predicting an exact premiere date would be premature. Where could The Westies Season 2 story go?
Spoilers ahead for The Westies Season 1.
The first season followed the violent Irish gang operating in early 1980s Hell’s Kitchen as members tried to profit from the construction of the Jacob Javits Convention Center while dealing with the Italian Mafia and a growing FBI investigation. Internal tension gradually became just as dangerous as the pressure coming from outside the gang.
By the finale, the conflict between Jimmy Roarke and Eamon Sweeney had divided the Westies between the younger and older generations. At the same time, Birdie Polk continued tightening the investigation around Sweeney and John Gotti, while Glenn Keenan struggled with the consequences of his involvement. Bridget’s IRA storyline also reached a major turning point.
A second season therefore has several natural directions to explore. Jimmy’s growing influence inside the gang can change the balance of power, while Sweeney’s position remains crucial to what happens next. The FBI investigation also gives the series a continuing threat that can push the gang closer to collapse.
Will The Westies get Season 2?
There are encouraging signs, although MGM+ still needs to make the final announcement. The creators developed The Westies with a larger gangster story in mind and have openly discussed plans beyond the first eight episodes.
Season 1 also finished with a 78% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, giving MGM+ another factor to consider while deciding the show’s future.
For now, viewers waiting for The Westies Season 2 release date will need to watch for an official renewal announcement from MGM+. With Jimmy, Sweeney, Gotti, the FBI investigation and Bridget’s storyline all left with unfinished business, another season has plenty of ground to cover.
