iOS 7 in-app controls seem too bright? You can darken them in iOS 7.1

To darken the colors for in-app controls, like buttons, do this:
- Tap Settings
- Tap General
- Choose Accessibility
- Tap Increase Contrast
- Tap the toggle for Darken Colors

Some apps won't look all that different, but others will give the boot to control and navigation color selections that I can only assume were chosen by a colorblind engineer. Apple's Calendar app, for example, gives you darker red navigation buttons instead of the orangey-red we were stuck with before.
Bonus tip: Is the white in iOS 7 too white for you? Not a problem. iOS 7.1's Increase Contrast settings also include a Reduce White Point option. That shifts the white color just a touch so it doesn't feel quite so harsh or bright. You're welcome.
