iOS 7: Jumping to the Music App from Control Center

iOS 7's Control Center is a great because it gives you quick access to all kinds of commonly used settings and, well, controls. Some of those controls also give you quick access to the apps they remotely run, including music playback. Read on to learn how.

If you aren't familiar with Control Center, you should be. It'll save you countless taps and swipes, and it's just flat-out convenient. To access Control Center, swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch screen. From here you can enable and disable WiFi and Bluetooth, control screen brightness, set alarms and take photos, use the camera flash as a flashlight, and play music and podcasts.

Tap the song name in Control Center (left) to jump to the Music app (right)

The music controls let you start and stop playback, jump to new tracks, and control volume. You can also jump directly into the Music app just by tapping the name of the currently playing song. If you're listening to a podcast, tapping the name takes you to the Podcast app instead.

I love this hidden little feature because Control Center doesn't let me change playlists or enable and disable shuffle playback. By tapping the current track name I jump right to the Music app, no extra taps or swipes needed.
