Age of Empire II

Apple has been pushing to bring more big games to its computer hardware. The catalog is about to get a major addition for the company’s devices. Fans of classic strategy games have reason to be excited because Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is finally making its way to Mac users later this month. After years of being a PC staple, the highly popular civilization-building game officially launches on May 28.

The strategy game arrives on Steam with three included expansions

When it lands on May 28, the title will be available exclusively through Steam for computer players. If you prefer using the official App Store, you will need to hold off a little longer, as that specific release is scheduled for later in the year.

This new version comes with updated 4K graphics and a fully remastered soundtrack to make the experience look and sound better than ever. It also packs a massive amount of content right out of the gate. Buying the base game gets you three big expansions included at no extra cost, which are Lords of the West, Dynasties of India, and Dawn of the Dukes.

If you want even more maps and civilizations, you can buy extra downloadable packs on launch day. The available add-ons include Return of Rome and the recently released The Last Chieftains, which focuses on historical societies from South America.

This gives strategy fans a complete package that has been updated and improved for over twenty years, finally letting them build their historical empires natively on their local machines.
