Apple adds iPad Air 3 Wi-Fi model to vintage products list

Apple has updated its vintage and obsolete products page and has now added the Wi-Fi version of the iPad Air 3 to the vintage list, which means the full lineup of this 2019 iPad model has officially entered the next stage of its lifecycle.

Apple had already marked the cellular variants of the iPad Air 3 as vintage earlier, but the Wi-Fi models stayed on sale longer, which explains why they are only now joining the list.

Vintage status

Apple classifies a product as vintage once five years have passed since it was last sold, and this status still allows limited repairs through Apple Stores and authorized service providers, but only if replacement parts remain available.

Once a product reaches seven years, Apple moves it to the obsolete category, where official repairs and parts support usually stop completely.

Apple launched the iPad Air 3 in March 2019, bringing back the Air lineup after a long gap with a 10.5-inch display, A12 Bionic chip, and support for the first-generation Apple Pencil.

The device kept a Lightning port and a Home button with Touch ID, and it also became the last iPad Air with white display bezels before Apple shifted to modern all-screen designs and USB-C.

Apple discontinued the model in September 2020 when it introduced the redesigned iPad Air 4, closing the chapter on this generation.
