Apple Announces October 13 Event With ‘Welcome Home’ Teaser

Apple has officially announced a special event for Tuesday, October 13, teasing its next product announcements with the tagline “Welcome home.” Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak confirmed the date on October 8 with a short teaser, while invitations sent to media describe an “Apple Experience” taking place in Tribeca, New York.

The announcement confirms the October 13 date that had been circulating for several weeks. We previously covered the rumors in our Apple Event on October 13 roundup, although Apple had not officially confirmed the event at that point.

Apple has invited selected media members to attend the experience in person. However, the company has not confirmed whether there will be a traditional keynote livestream. Reports indicate Apple could release a prerecorded presentation or product announcements online alongside the hands-on event in New York.

What Apple could announce at the “Welcome home” event

The wording of Apple’s invitation strongly points toward its Home ecosystem. Apple has not confirmed individual products, but current reports consistently point to three devices.

  • Apple smart home hub: The long-rumored display-based home device, commonly called HomePad, is expected to combine smart home controls, Siri, FaceTime, media playback and household information. Our HomePad roundup covers everything reported about the device so far.
  • HomePod mini 2: Apple’s first major HomePod mini hardware refresh since the original model arrived in 2020 is expected. Recent leaks point to updated internals and revised color options.
  • New Apple TV 4K: Apple is also expected to update the Apple TV 4K, which has not received new hardware since 2022. Previous code findings have pointed toward a newer processor and upgraded connectivity.

The combination lines up with Apple’s increasingly connected Home strategy. Both Apple TV 4K and HomePod already serve as home hubs for Home features, while the rumored display would give Apple a dedicated control surface for accessories, Siri and other household functions.

Apple’s “Welcome home” event takes place on October 13, so the final product lineup, pricing and availability should become clear then.
