Apple is officially bringing its fiftieth birthday celebrations down under with a massive event planned for the Sydney Opera House. The technology company is teaming up with the famous Australian landmark to project custom artwork directly onto the building’s iconic sails. This upcoming light show will combine digital art and live music to mark half a century of the popular brand making computers and phones.
The events will project digital art on a global landmark
Ten emerging Australian artists used iPads to create special designs for the occasion. Apple will light up the eastern sails of the Opera House with these chosen artworks from March 25 to March 27.
The company also invited the public to submit their own digital drawings during recent creative sessions, and some of those local pieces will make it into the final nightly projections.
Apple is combining live music with the celebration
The visual display will not be the only thing happening at the venue. Australian composer Bailey Pickles recently shared that Apple hired him to write and perform original music for the event. We do not know the exact time he will take the stage, but the performance will accompany the light show.
Apple already held similar anniversary events in the United States and China, and this Sydney gathering adds another major city to the global tour before the actual anniversary date on April 1.
We are not Down Under! If the earth is a globe and floating in space then there is not top or bottom. Why do the yanks always think they are on top and we are under?
