The highly anticipated iPhone Duo is finally arriving, and Apple wants to make sure shoppers get a proper look at its first folding phone. Because this hardware is a major shift in design, the company is preparing a massive hands-on experience at retail locations. Getting buyers comfortable with the screen is critical, so store layouts are changing to put these units front and center before launch day.
Stores will set up custom stands and untethered test units
Shoppers visiting a retail location will see a lot of new displays, as reported by Bloomberg. The company designed a special stand that holds an unfolded phone right next to two standard models, which will likely be the iPhone 18 Pro and the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max. This setup lets buyers easily compare the sizes in person.
Along the sides of the stores, you will find additional units without security cables attached to them. This gives people the freedom to pick up the device, fold it, and try out software features like StandBy mode in their own hands.

A new moving display will also demonstrate the phone opening and closing so anyone walking in can see how the hinge works. Even smaller store locations are expected to get around twenty demo units to handle the heavy crowd interest.
Pre-orders start soon for this titanium phone with dual screens
If the store demo wins you over, you need to be ready to buy quickly. Initial stock will be very limited. If you want to secure yours, you should prepare for pre-orders which officially open on October 16. The phone then hits store shelves a week later on October 23.
The hardware packs some very impressive specifications inside its titanium frame. You get a 5.4-inch outer screen for quick tasks and a large 7.6-inch inner screen when you fold it open. It runs on the powerful A20 Pro chip, which provides plenty of speed for multitasking across both displays. You also get a 48MP dual camera system to capture high quality photos and videos.
This folding model is a big step forward for smartphone design. By filling stores with open demo units, the company is betting that letting people touch and feel the hardware will justify the high asking price.
