Apple has collaborated with Japanese fashion house ISSEY MIYAKE to create the iPhone Pocket, a 3D-knit accessory designed for iPhone, AirPods, and small essentials. The product blends Apple’s minimalist design with ISSEY MIYAKE’s textile craftsmanship, offering a stylish way to carry tech.
The iPhone Pocket looks like a modern version of the classic iPod Sock, but longer and more refined, similar to an iPhone crossbody strap. Made from ribbed, elastic fabric, it stretches to fully enclose the iPhone while still letting you glimpse the display through its open weave. ISSEY MIYAKE’s design director Yoshiyuki Miyamae described it as inspired by the concept of “a piece of cloth” and meant to express “the joy of wearing an iPhone in your own way.”
Apple’s vice president of Industrial Design, Molly Anderson, said the project celebrates “craftsmanship, simplicity, and delight.” She says the color palette is designed to mix and match with every iPhone model, allowing users to personalize how they wear their devices.
Two Versions, Multiple Colors
The iPhone Pocket comes in two lengths. The short strap version costs $149.95 and is available in eight shades: lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black. The long strap version costs $229.95 and comes in sapphire, cinnamon, and black. Both designs fit all iPhone models and can be worn over the shoulder, on the wrist, or tied to a bag.
The pocket uses a soft, stretchable textile that hugs the iPhone snugly yet flexes enough for you to check notifications without removing the device. The design recalls the playful practicality of Apple’s early accessories while updating them with modern materials and fashion sensibility.
Limited Availability
Apple says the iPhone Pocket will launch on November 14 as a limited-edition product. It will be sold online in select regions, including the U.S., U.K., France, Italy, Japan, China, Singapore, and South Korea. It will also be displayed in 10 flagship Apple Stores worldwide, such as Apple Regent Street in London, Apple SoHo in New York, and Apple Ginza in Tokyo.
This collaboration bridges fashion and technology, blending ISSEY MIYAKE’s distinctive fabric artistry with Apple’s product precision to reimagine how we carry our devices.
