Apple Releases VisionOS 26.5 Beta 2 for Developers with New Subscription Tools

Apple has now released visionOS 26.5 beta 1 for developers

Apple just released the second developer beta for visionOS 26.5. This update arrives two weeks after the first beta version dropped to keep the regular testing cycle moving. Registered developers in the USA and around the world can download the new software right now through the settings app on their Vision Pro headset.

This build mostly focuses on behind-the-scenes performance fixes rather than major visual changes. Don’t forget, Apple has also released the second beta updates for iOS 26.5, watchOS 26.5, tvOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5, and macOS Tahoe 26.5.

Developers get new tools to manage monthly and annual subscriptions

Apple keeps things quiet on the feature front for everyday users with this release. The company is putting its effort into making the spatial computing operating system run better. Mid-cycle updates like this usually fix the small problems left over from previous major releases. If you ran into freezing issues or apps acting strangely on your Vision Pro lately, this patch aims to smooth those out.

For developers building apps, this update brings some helpful changes to StoreKit. Apple added new ways to read pricing details for subscriptions that require a twelve-month commitment but charge on a monthly basis. Developers can now use built-in tools to clearly display these specific billing plans to customers.

On top of that, the update fixes a frustrating bug in StoreKitTest where testing sessions would fail to use the correct configuration during unit tests.
